New Welfare Director Takes Office

Brigadier Nishyanka Eriyagama of the Special Forces (SF) assumed office on Monday (1) as the 33rd Director, Directorate of Welfare at the Army Headquarters during a brief ceremony.

After brief religious observances, the newly-appointed Director Welfare left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office.

Staff Officers in the Directorate and Other Ranks attended the inauguration of the new office.

He succeeded Brigadier Kanishka Heyyantuduwa who has now been appointed as Defence Attaché to the Sri Lankan Embassy in Pakistan.

Brigadier Nishyanka Eriyagama served as the Centre Commandant of the SF Regimental Centre, prior to this new appointment.
