New Wanni Commander Visits to 21 & 62 Divisions

Major General Ruwan Kulathunga, Commander, Security Force Headquarters – Wanni (SFHQ-W) formally visited the 21 Division Headquarters in Anuradhapura for the first time on Tuesday (29) and the 62 Division Headquarters on Thursday (1) after assumption of his duties.

General Officer Commanding of the 21 Division welcomed him before a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour at the 21 Division Headquarters.

As the next segment of the event, the visiting SFHQ-W Commander planted a mango sapling inside the camp premises to remember his visit to the place.

Later on, the General Officer Commanding gave an update on the nature of duties at the conference hall. The Commander afterwards posed for a group photograph at 21 Division before he addressed the troops. An all rank tea party ended the day’s itinerary.

On his way back, the Commander called on Ven. Hakuruwela Chandraloka Thera, Chief Incumbent – Gajaba monastery, Abayawewa in Anuradhapura.

General Officer Commanding, 21 Division Major General W. R. P de Silva, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were associated with arrangements.

On Thursday (1) the Commander, SF-W Major General Ruwan Kulathunga visited the 62 Division Headquarters in Galkulama where he was welcomed by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 62 Division. A formal Guard Turnout at the entrance to the Headquarters greeted his as a military formality.

After a briefing of the GOC 62 Division, the visiting SF-W Commander planted a mango sapling inside the camp premises.

The visiting Commander after posing for a group photo addressed the troops and participated in an all rank tea party.

On the way back, the Commander paid a visit to Athawetunuwewa village and inspected a house owned by a soldier of 5 Sri Lanka National Guard who died recently due to a heart attack.

General Officer Commanding, 62 Division Major General B.H.M.A Wijesinghe, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and a large number of Other Ranks were present during the Commander’s visit to the 62 Division.
