New Two Star Rankers Receive Greetings From Commander

In less than an hour after the Military Secretariat announced the promotion of Officers and Other Ranks to coincide with the 73rd Army anniversary, all five Senior Brigadiers elevated to the two star rank of Major General had the rare privilege of receiving their symbol of authority from the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage on the milestone 73rd Army Day (10 October).

Accordingly, just-promoted Major General S Kasthurimudali RSP psc of Gemunu Watch, Commandant, Army Training School - Maduru Oya, Major General JARSK Jayasekara USP psc of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Director, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Major General SJ Priyadarshana RWP RSP USP of Mechanized Infantry Regiment, General Officer Commanding - 66 Division, Major General JMRNK Jayamanna RWP of Gemunu Watch, General Officer Commanding - 14 Division and Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP of Sri Lanka Artillery attached to Artillery Regimental Centre received their General’s sword from Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage.

Having handed over accoutrement of new rank, the Army Chief congratulated them and extended best wishes for their future endeavours. "Your hard work and commitment deserved this promotion and it is an endorsement of your tireless and dedicated roles, so keep up your good work," he said.
