New Therapy Center for Disable War Heroes in the Offing

A PRELIMINARY round of discussion to explore possibilities of promoting mental and physical well-being of the physically-handicapped War Heroes affected by terrorism was recently held at Army Headquarters auditorium, chaired by Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB).

The meeting focused on provision of possible residential therapy and treatment to those War Heroes who need close attention, psychological guidance and counseling while strengthening relations among their next of kin. The project in this connection is to be spearheaded from Anuradhapura area after selecting a proper venue for the purpose. This special center is to be professionally equipped with expertise and technicalities to cater to the needs of those soldiers with disabilities but with different skills. 

Productive deliberations and exchange of views, contributed by Mrs. Jayasuriya SVAB President, Mrs. Anusha Samarasinghe, SVAB Vice President, Chief of Staff Major General Mendaka Samarasinghe, Major General D.R.A.B Jayathilake and Ms. Shiromi Masakorale, an active member of the SVAB who is also the Manager CSR Hemas Holdings PLC actively supported the speedy founding of this special center for physically-handicapped War Heroes who gave away their “today” for our “tomorrow”.
