New Tennis Court at Army Residential Complex Opened


Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army at the invitation of the Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Tennis Committee, opened the new Tennis Court, constructed inside the Army residential quarters complex at Manning Town, Narahenpita on Wednesday (16).
 
Lieutenant General Ratnayake on arrival at the venue was received by Brigadier Shantha Dissanayake, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Tennis Committee and conducted to the place for inauguration of the new Tennis Court which remained a need for residents in the complex.
 
The Chief Guest unveiled a plaque and opened the court symbolically, signalling the start for an exhibition match.

Major General Prasad Samarasinghe, Chief of Staff, Major General E.M.M Ambanpola, Deputy Chief of Staff, Brigadier Shantha Dissanayake, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Tennis Committee, Mr Iqbal Bin Isac, Chairman, Sri Lanka Tennis Association and several senior officers were present.

Prizes to the winners in the Inter Regiment Tennis Tournament - 2013 were also awarded to them by the Commander of the Army on the same occasion.
