New Shrine at 1 CES Regimental HQ for Spiritual Needs Opened

1 Corps of Engineer Service (CES) Regiment HQ at Panagoda on Thursday (13) opened its new shrine hall in the premises for veneration during a simple religious ceremony where a group of deserving students were also awarded incentives for educational purposes.

Major General D. M. K. D. B. Pussella RWP RSP, Commander Security Forces - West was instrumental in gifting the Buddha statue for placement in the new shrine, the spiritual development platform for military personnel serving the 1 Corps of Engineer Service Regiment HQ camp premises inside the Army cantonment.

Several Buddhist monks were invited to perform religious rites and rituals and invoke blessings for the occasion. Major General D. M. K. D. B. Pussella RWP RSP, along with Officers and Other Ranks, made offerings to the statue as a mark of respect and devotion after unveiling it amidst ‘Seth Pirith’ chanting.

In line with the day’s programme, a special initiative was also taken to gift school accessories, stationery, sports items, and other essentials to nineteen deserving students from Manakada Kanishta Vidyalaya in Kosgama.

SFHQ-West Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin & Quartering, Centre Commandant, CES Regiment, Several Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Principal and Staff at Manakada Kanishta Vidyalaya joined this event.
