New QMG at Army Headquarters Takes over Duties

Major General Priyantha Jayawardana of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment assumed office as the new Quarter Master General (QMG) of the Sri Lanka Army on Monday (28) at the Army Headquarters during a brief ceremony. He succeeds Major General Prasanna Ranawaka who just retired from the Army.

Upon arrival at his office, the newly-appointed Quarter Master General left his signature for an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office amid chanting of 'Seth Pirith' by members of the Maha Sangha.

Staff Officers and Other Ranks in the QMG Branch attended the inauguration of the new office.

Major General Priyantha Jayawardana, prior to this appointment served as Commander, Security Forces-East.
