Major General Samantha Silva on Monday (19) took over duties as the 30th Quarter Master General (QMG) in the Quarter Master General Branch at the Army Headquarters.
The newly-appointed QMG signed an official document to signify the acceptance of the new office amid religious observances.
Prior to this new appointment, he served as the General Officer Commanding of the 22 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - East.
He succeeds Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku who is now appointed as the new Commander, SF-J.
Senior Officers including Directors of Directorates under command to the QMG Branch, Staff Officers of the Branch, together with a few Other Ranks attended the inauguration of office.
