61 Division Headquarters with the help from donors and available resources succeeded in setting up a new dormitory building for the use of about 100 other ranks (ORs) in the Headquarters premises.
Within 3 months the entire construction was completed by troops serving the area with the guidance of Army Engineers. Adjoining sanitary facilities were also brought to completion, together with the main building.
Brigadier A. Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division recently declared open the new building during a simple ceremony. Senior officers and soldiers attended the occasion.
