The recently-appointed new National Defence College (NDC) Commandant, Major General D.G.S Senarath Yapa (Retd) RWP RSP ndu after assumption of duties in the new office paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army at the Army HQ on Tuesday (04).
During cordial interactions, both discussed matters of administrative nature and further development of the NDC as a seat of international recognition. The visiting NDC Commandant thanked the Army Chief for his continuous support and expressed his desire to closely liaise with the Army in NDC's future endeavours.
Towards the end, the Commander of the Army presented a special memento to the NDC Commandant, and the gesture was reciprocated.
Major General D.G.S Senarath Yapa (Retd) RWP RSP ndu was appointed the overlooking NDC Commandant on 16 March 2023, and was afterwards recalled to the office of the NDC Commandant upon his retirement on 2 June 2023. He was formerly the Deputy Chief of Staff in the Army.
