The newly-appointed Commander, Security Force - Mullaittivu (SF-MLT) Major General W.B.D.P Fernando made his first formal visit to Brigades and Battalions under command to the 64 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) recently.
A Guard Turnout, presented by 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment at the entrance to the 64 Division Headquarters greeted the visiting Mullaittivu Commander on arrival before he made a formal address to the troops. He added memories by planting a tree sapling in the premises, as part of his day’s itinerary.
Later on, Major General Fernando went to meet the troops in the 642 Brigade. He inspected the 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops and sat with them for lunch. Afterwards, on the following day, the visiting Mullaittivu Commander called at 614 and 643 Brigade Headquarters and met troops serving in those formations.
