New MIR Colonel of the Regiment Assumes Duties

The new Colonel of the Regiment of Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR), Major General J.R Kulathunga assumed duties at MIR premises, Halmillawewa, Dambulla on Thursday (22).

A Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour presented by MIR troops saluted the newly appointed Colonel of the Regiment.

Afterwards, the new Colonel of the Regiment signed a formal document to signify the acceptance of the new office.

Finally, Major General J.R Kulathunga addressed all ranks at the MIR Headquarters conference hall.

The Centre Commandant, Brigade Commander together with officers and other ranks attended the event.
