New Mess Built by Own Troops Opened

The newly-constructed Other Ranks’ Mess at the 12 Division Headquarters in Hambantota was opened by Major General Nishantha Wanniarachchi, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 12 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) during a brief ceremony on Tuesday (10).

All Ranks of the 12 Division contributed to the construction on their own by way of labour and voluntary offer of financial donations. All furniture and accessories, needed to the Mess were meanwhile produced by skilled carpenters in the 12 Division.

All Officers, Senior Non Commissioned Officers and Non Commissioned Officers were present during the opening ceremony.
