An Australian sponsorship, supplemented with the labour support offered by 7 Gamunu Watch (GW) troops resulted in the birth of a new medical centre at Valluwarpuram Grama Seva Division in the 68 Division area.
The project was enabled by Dr Kelvin Kelly and Mrs Collin Kelly, both Australians, now residing in Australia. There support to the project was channeled through Mrs Shriyani Wickramasinghe.
The opening of the new medical centre took place on Monday (28) amidst a gathering of senior officers and civilians.
7 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops under the 683 Brigade sweated to make the project a success.
Brigadier A.S Hewavitharana, Brigade Commander 683 Brigade, ceremonially handed over the Medical Center for use of the public.
