New Library in 551 Brigade Opened

The newly-constructed library at the 551 Brigade Headquarters premises in Point Pedro was vested in the troops by Colonel Asanga Perera, Commander, 551 Brigade during a brief ceremony held on Saturday (19).

The project was aimed to inculcate the reading habit among soldiers and completed in a short period. Mr W. D Jayasinghe, retired Assistant Librarian of the University of Moratuwa and his relatives as an incentive to the project donated library books to the value of nearly Rs 150,000/= on the day of its opening.
