Major General G.V.D.U.A Perera, who assumed office as the new Commander, Security Forces Headquarters-Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Monday (2) amidst military honours and multi-religious blessings, addressed all General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders and Unit Commanders on Wednesday (4).
He replaced Major General Crishantha De Silva who is expected to take up a new appointment shortly.
A formal military ceremony with a Guard Turnout plus a Guard of Honour saluted Major General Perera on arrival at the SFHQ-KLN premises. After he lit the traditional oil lamp amidst multi-religious blessings of major faiths, Major General Perera signed a document, symbolizing his acceptance of office.
On Wednesday (4) during a tour in SFHQ-KLN area, he talked to the 65 and 66 General Officers Commanding, all officers and other ranks with a view to receiving an update on the status quo, related to different areas.
