New ITC Commandant Begins Office

Brigadier W.B.J.K Wimalarathna RWP RSP of the Gemunu Watch assumed duties as the new Commandant, Infantry Training Centre (ITC) at Minneriya on Friday (03 Nov) amidst religious observances and military formalities.

The incoming Commandant was warmly welcomed by Colonel S.J.M.N.S Perera USP, Commanding Officer, ITC after he was greeted in a Guard Turnout salute at the entrance.

Afterwards, he symbolically left his signature for an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office after performing religious observances. Later on, he addressed the troops in the compound and briefed them about his vision for the organization.

Prior to this appointment, Brigadier W.B.J.K Wimalarathna RWP RSP served as the Centre Commandant in the Gemunu Watch Regimental HQ. He succeeds Brigadier W.S.K Liyanawaduge RSP who has now been attached to the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regimental Centre.
