Brigadier Chinthaka Rajapakse, the new Commandant at the Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL) at Kukuleganga assumed duties on Wednesday (27) during a simple ceremony.
Troops awarded a Guard Turnout at the entrance on his arrival before he was ushered to his new office. Amid brief religious observances, he marked the inauguration of his new office by placing his signature for an official document.
He was also invited to add memories by planting a 'Mango' sapling in the IPSOTSL compound.
A brief address to the occasion and an All Rank tea arrangement culminated the day’s brief inaugural ceremony. Staff officers, including the Chief Instructor attended the occasion.
Brigadier Chinthaka Rajapakse is the 14th Commandant at the IPSOTSL. He was the 592 Brigade Commander in Mullaittivu before he took over the appointment at the IPSOTSL.
