New Indian Defence Attaché Greets Commander

Captain M Anand, the recently-appointed Defence Attaché at the High Commission of India in Colombo Monday (20 Nov) afternoon extended courtesies to the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu at the Army Headquarters as a formality.

During the interactive meeting that ensued, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage shared a couple of thoughts with the new Defence Attaché where both of them recalled bonds of goodwill, cooperation and understanding that prevail between Armed Forces of both countries.

They also discussed possibilities for further enhancement of training programmes for Sri Lankan Army personnel as well as different exchange programmes and other general matters of concern.

Towards the end of the cordial meeting, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage symbolized the goodwill of the Sri Lanka Army by presenting a special memento to the new Defence Attaché. The gesture was reciprocated.
