New IGP calls on Army Commander

Newly-appointed Inspector General of Police Mr Chandra Fernando on Thursday (07) morning paid a courtesy call on Commander of the Army, Lt. Gen S. H. S Kottegoda at Army Headquarters.

A Guard of Honour plus Guard Turnout accorded by troops of the Sri Lanka Engineers welcomed the new Police Chief on his arrival at the Army Headquarters premises before he was introduced to Senior Army Officers at the entrance to the Commander's office. Major General M. D. S. Chandrapala ushered the visiting delegate to the dais to receive the salute.

Army Commander Lt Gen S. H. S Kottegoda after a brief cordial chat requested the new Police Chief to place his signature on the VIP book to mark his visit to the Army. Mementoes to mark the event were also exchanged between both Army Chief and the Inspector General of Police on the occasion.
