New House Built for a Needy Family Coincident with the Army Anniversary

Troops of the 12 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under the 23 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) vested a new house in a needy family in Iralakkulam, Periyawadduwan area.

Troops in the 23 Division volunteered to contribute towards this worthy cause after the value of this community project was explained to them on the directions of Major General Nalin Koswatta, General Officer Commanding, 23 Div.

The newly-built house was warmed in a simple ceremony with Hindu traditions on Thursday (7) to coincide with the Army Day. Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General Channa Weerasuriya cut a ribbon and handed over the keys to the family.

The construction of the new house was completed with the assistance of 12 SLNG troops under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Major General Nalin Koswatta and Commander, 232 Infantry Brigade, Colonel Ruwan Wijesuriya.
