New Home for Needy Family Handed Over at Ranakeliya

In a heartwarming gesture, Major General P.K.W.W.M.J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division, officially handed over a newly constructed house to a deserving family in Ranakeliya, Tissamaharama, on 10 October 2024. This initiative was launched as a part of the Sri Lanka Army’s 75th Anniversary celebrations.

The project was made possible through the generous financial contribution of Mrs. Chandrani Jayasooriya, while troops from the 12th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment provided the manpower and technical expertise required for the construction. The Commander of the 122 Infantry Brigade offered essential guidance, and the Commanding Officer of the 12th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment effectively directed the troops to ensure the project was completed within the stipulated time frame.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Senior Officers, Other Ranks, members of the donor family, the beneficiary family, and local civilians.

The event concluded with a group photograph featuring the General Officer Commanding, the beneficiary family, and invited guests, marking the successful completion of this impactful community project.
