The newly-constructed holiday home at 542 Brigade Headquarters of 54 Division under the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) was declared open by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W at the auspicious minute on Wednesday (22) at the Brigade Headquarters premises.
The holiday home is open to all other ranks and their members of families who visit Mannar area.
The construction was erected under the supervision of the 542 Brigade Commander, Brigadier M.M.A Perera with the labour support of the troops serving the 542 Brigade.
Contribution of local resources and labour support of the troops enabled Rs 8 million estimated holiday home built at a cost of Rs 6 lakhs.
Meanwhile, Major General Boniface Perera inspected the ongoing resettlement projects in Mullikulam and Silawathura areas during the same time.
General Officer Commanding, 54 Division, Brigade Commanders and senior officers attended the occasion.
