The newly-appointed High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Major General (R) Faheem Ul Aziz, HI (M) paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, on Thursday (16) afternoon at the Army Headquarters.
In a cordial and interactive meeting, both parties exchanged views on matters of shared interest and concern. Acknowledging the enduring bonds of goodwill between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, the Army Chief and High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sri Lanka delved into an extensive dialogue with the objective of enhancing bilateral cooperation and fostering deeper understanding between both countries.
Furthermore, the Army Chief expressed gratitude for the generous contributions from Pakistan, which have significantly supported the Sri Lanka Army to enhance its capacities and capabilities, while extending warm greetings on His Excellency’s new appointment.
Adding significance to this event, the visiting High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Sri Lanka left his compliments in the Visitors’ Book at the Commander’s office before the departure. The cordial meeting culminated with the exchange of mementoes.
Colonel Muhammad Farooq, Defence Adviser at the High Commission of Pakistan was also associated with the courtesy meeting.
