New GOC-62 Division Makes Routine Familiarization Visits

The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding, 62 Division Brigadier Upali Gunasekera made his first official field visit to under command Brigades and Battalions during 2-3 April.

He made his first field visit to the 622 Brigade on 02 April 2021, located at Halambawewa. General Officer Commanding was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality at the entrance and was warmly welcomed by the Brigade Commander Colonel B.G.S Fernando.

Afterwards, the Brigade Commander briefed the visitor on Operational Matters and deployment along with administration matters. Later, the General Officer Commanding spoke out his mind to Officers and Other Ranks and visited the 622 Brigade and its under command battalions, 9 Gajaba Regiment and 20 Gajaba Regiment Battalions.

On 03 April 2021, the General Officer Commanding visited the 623 Infantry Brigade, located at Wediwettukallu. The visitor was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality followed by the briefing of the Commander, 623 Brigade, Brigadier G.P Kodituwakku, all Commanding Officers and the customary troop address. After familiarizing with the Brigade, the General Officer Commanding visited 11 Gamunu Watch, 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment Headquarters, Battalion Training School and Key points.

Concluding his field visits, General Officer Commanding made his final visit on Tuesday (06) to the 621 Brigade at Welioya. The General Officer Commanding was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality at the entrance and was warmly welcomed by the Commander 621 Brigade, Brigadier K.K.S Perakum. It followed a briefing of the Brigade Commander, Commanding Officer 14 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry and an address to the troops. Afterwards, the General Officer Commanding visited the 621 Infantry Brigade and its under command 14 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry Battalion Headquarters. Sports Shoes | Men's Footwear
