New Facility Complex at SFHQ-KLN Opened for All Ranks

The new utility building complex, consists of a tailor shop, saloon and a shoe-making unit, all three a long-felt need at the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) complex was opened on Wednesday (14) during a simple ceremony.

The facility complex, constructed under directions of the Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN), Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana with the technical assistance, provided by Engineer troops, was effectively supported by hundreds of SFHQ-KLN troops.

Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, SF-KLN as the Chief Guest for the inauguration of the new welfare complex was warmly received on arrival by Colonel Nishantha Dissanayake, Colonel Administration and Quartering, SFHQ-KLN. Religious observances and lighting of the traditional oil lamp paved the way for the day's Chief Guest to unveil a plaque and cut a ribbon before he warmed those units.

Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana afterwards, together with several accompanying officers took time off to closely look at all three units, equipped with modern facilities.

Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana appreciated the efforts of Kilinochchi troops in this regard and spoke high of their landscaping capabilities. Those modern facilities SFHQ-KLN are open to both Officers and Other Ranks alike.

The Kilinochchi Commander on invitation planted a sapling in the premises and added memories to the occasion.

All Officers and Other Ranks of the SFHQ-KLN were associated with the opening ceremony.
