New Fabricated Billets Given to Soldiers

Four new pre-fabricated residential quarters, erected to meet with existing shortage of billets for troops in Vavuniya were vested in the soldiers on Monday (24) during a brief ceremony, headed by Major General Boniface Perera, Security Force Commander - Wanni as the Chief Guest for the inauguration.

The first two such buildings put up at the Veherathennagama Army camp manned by troops of 26 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) were opened by the Chief Guest at the invitation of 26 SLSR Commanding Officer.

Later on, the new pre-fabricated building for other ranks in the 330 composite squadron camp at Gajasinghapura, Welioya was opened at the invitation of Commanding Officer of 330 composite squadron.   

Soon after its opening, one more such building erected for other ranks in the 62 Division Headquarters premises was handed over for the use of soldiers after the Chief Guest declared opened it. Many senior officers including General Officer Commanding, 62 Division attended these openings.
