Brigadier Sisira Pilapitiya of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, this morning (25) took over duties as the new Director Personnel Administration (DPA) of the Army at his office in the Army Headquarters, Sri Jayewardenepura.
He succeeded Brigadier Senarath Niwunhella who assumed a new appointment at the Presidential Secretariat. Soon after Brigadier Pilapitiya arrived at the office, he performed religious rites and lit the traditional oil lamp, together with a few of his Staff Officers.
Ven Aluthnuwara Anuruddha Nayake Thero of Kotte Sri Dalada Raja Maha Viharaya and members of the Maha Sangha invoked blessings on his new appointment as he placed his signature in an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office.
