Brigadier Lanka Amarapala of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers assumed office as the 37th Director, Directorate of Psychological Operations at the Army Headquarters on Thursday (21) during a brief ceremony, attended by several Senior Officers.
After religious observances, Brigadier Lanka Amarapala signed an official document and signified the acceptance of the new office. Staff Officers of the Directorate and Other Ranks joined the occasion and extended their best wishes.
Brigadier Lanka Amarapala was appointed as Director Psychological Operations soon after his return to the island upon successful completion of his Masters’ degree course at the National Defence College (NDC) in the Philippines. Earlier, he commanded 593 and 112 Brigades in the 59 and 11 Divisions respectively.
