New Director Operations at AHQ Takes Office

Brigadier Shantha Ranaweera assumed office as the 38th Director in the Directorate of Operations at the Army Headquarters on Thursday (3), amidst religious blessings and in the presence of several Senior Officers. He succeeds Major General Harendra Ranasinghe who has now been appointed the new General Officer Commanding of the 56 Division in Kokeliya.

He placed his signature in a formal document to signify the assumption of new duties. In addition to this new appointment, he continues to serve as the Commandant, Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka at Kukuleganga.

Staff Officers and Other Ranks of the Directorate of Operations were present during the simple inaugural occasion.
