Brigadier Rasika Kumara of Sri Lanka Engineers assumed duties as the 22nd Director of the Directorate of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law (HR & IHL) on Thursday (19) during a brief ceremony in his office at the Army Headquarters.
The newly-appointed Director left his signature for an official document after religious observances and symbolized the acceptance of the new office.
Prior to this appointment, he was the Commander, 213 Brigade. He succeeded Major General Keerthi Kottawatta who just retired from the Army.
Staff Officers and Other Ranks of the Directorate were present at the location by adhering to health guidelines.
