Major General Indrajith Bandara of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment assumed office as the 19th Director General Infantry at Directorate of Infantry at the Army Headquarters on Friday (30) during a brief ceremony.
After brief religious observances, the newly-appointed Director General Infantry left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office. Prior to this new appointment, he served as the General Officer Commanding of the 54 Division.
Staff Officers of the Directorate and Other Ranks joined the occasion. He succeeds Major General Thilak Hangilipola who has just retired from the Army.
