Brigadier Duminda Gunasinghe of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers assumed duties as the new Director of Directorate of Management & Maintenance on Wednesday (Jan 18) during a simple ceremony at his Army HQ office.
He marked the assumption symbolically by placing his signature in an official document, amidst the chanting of ‘Seth Pirith’ by members of the Maha Sangha in the presence of several officers of the Directorate.
Soon after the assumption of duties, Brigadier Duminda Gunasinghe spoke to the Officers and members of the staff and set out his vision for the Directorate in the future. He succeeds Brigadier Prashantha Wimalasiri, now continuing his duties at the Construction Management Unit of the Army Headquarters.
