New Director, DEME Takes Office

Brigadier Deepal Hathurusingha of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) assumed office on Monday (2) as the 21st Director of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (DEME) at the Army Headquarters, Sri Jayawardenapura.

The newly-appointed Director signed an official document and symbolized the formal acceptance of his new office amid religious observances.

Staff Officers in the Directorate, Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion. He succeeded Major General Indu Samarakoon who has been recently appointed as the Logistic Commander.

Brigadier Hathurusinghe, prior to this new appointment, held the office of the Brigadier Administration and Quartering at Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi.
