Brigadier W.A.U.D Wijerathne of the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) assumed office as the New Director of the Colombo Army Hospital on Monday (8 May) during a brief ceremony.
In accordance with military traditions, Brigadier W.A.U.D Wijerathne upon his arrival at the Colombo Army Hospital was greeted with a Guard Turnout by the SLAMC troops before he was invited to his new office.
Next, the newly-appointed Director left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office amidst religious observances. Prior to his new appointment, he served as the Director of the Army Medical Procument Service at the Army Headquarters.
Staff Officers of the Directorate and Other Ranks joined the occasion. He succeeds Colonel S.L.S Kumarage USP.
