The recently-appointed Defence Adviser (DA) to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Moscow, Russia, Group Captain S.R Jayaratne WV WWV RSP USP psc of Sri Lanka Air Force on Friday (30) paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu at the Army Headquarters, prior to his departure.
The Army Chief extending his best wishes to the designate Senior Officer underlined the importance of the appointment and the roles that could be played as a diplomat for the best interests of the country.
At the end of this cordial meeting, the Commander of the Army presented a memento to newly-appointed DA as a token of goodwill.
