Considering the importance of spreading and promoting knowledge on IT, the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) has been in the practice of assisting all the schools in the area by way of donating software and IT accessories.
SFHQ-J on hearing that Maravanpulo Sakalakala Valli Vidyalayam in Navathkuli in the peninsula lacked IT equipment for the school to begin IT training, arrangements were made to donate a new computer set with all accessories to the school on a directive, given by Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Security Force Commander, Jaffna. 18 Battalion Gemunu Watch (GW) troops sponsored the donation.
The donation was recently handed over to the school by Brigadier A. Sudasinghe, General Officer Commanding, 52 Division.
Similarly, the same GW troops colourwashed buildings in the school after cleaning the surroundings before the donation ceremony.
