New Commander, SF-West Makes Familiarization Visits

Major General Kithsiri Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces-West after taking over his new duties made familiarization visits to the 141 Brigade at Veyangoda and several battalions under 14 Division on Thursday (23).

In accordance with military traditions, Major General Krishantha Gnanarathne, General Officer Commanding of the 14 Division, as well as the Brigade Commander of the 141 Brigade, Brigadier Pradeep Gamage welcomed the new West Commander and presented him with a comprehensive briefing on the role and tasks of the 141 Brigade.

To leave memories, he was invited to plant a sapling in the 141 Brigade compound and leave his thoughts in the Visitors' Book. As the second leg of his visit, he called at the 6 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment and 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment camps under command to the 14 Division in the area. Commanding Officers of those battalions and the staff officers of the 141 Brigade were present at those locations.
