Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF - J) made his maiden visit to 51 Infantry Division at Kopay and its under command Brigades and Battalions from 31 January 2024 to 01 February 2024.
At the main entrance of the Division Headquarters, the visiting Commander was accorded a Guard Turnout in conformity with military traditions by the troops of 14 Gajaba Regiment. A minute after, the visiting Commander was warmly welcomed by Major General S.W.B Welagedara RSP VSV USP ndc, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 51 Infantry Division and ushered him to the Gymnasium for troops address.
During his address, the Commander, SF - J, expressed his vision and expectation from troops under his command. To mark the visit to the Division, the visiting Commander planted a sapling in the camp premises and posed for a group photograph in front of the Division Headquarters. Later, GOC briefed on the Area of Responsibility, troops deployment and other important aspects related to 51 Infantry Division.
Subsequently, the Commander, SF - J visited 511, 513 Infantry Brigades, and its under command units and the Kankesanthurai Ammunition Dump area.
Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the visit.
