New Commander, Security Forces - West Begins his Duty Roles

Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu on Thursday (12) formally took charge of the office of Commander, Security Forces - West (SF-West) during a simple ceremony.

Upon his arrival at the premises, he was accorded a warm welcome in a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour salute by the troops of the 6 Gajaba Regiment, in keeping with established military traditions.

Following the formal military ceremonies, Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, assumed his new role amidst religious observances and signified his acceptance by placing his signature for an official document. In a symbolic gesture, he planted a sapling in front of the main office complex and posed for a group photograph.

During an All-Rank tea, Major General W.H.K.S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, shared his views with the troops before he made the formal troop address. Underlining the paramount importance of discipline and its pivotal role in attaining success. He shared his vision for the command and outlined his goals, instilling inspiration in the troops to collectively pursue these objectives.

The General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Staff Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) participated in the day’s ceremony.
