Brigadier Nalin Bandaranayake of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment assumed duties as the new Commandant, Army Training School (ATS), Maduruoya on Monday (March 20) amidst religious observances and military formalities.
The incoming Commandant was warmly welcomed by Colonel Kumara Ranathungamage, Commanding Officer, ATS after he was greeted with a Guard Turnout at the entrance. Afterwards, he symbolically left his signature in an official document, signifying the acceptance of his new office after observance of religious blessings. He also left memories by planting a sapling inside the ATS compound.
Prior to this appointment, Brigadier Nalin Bandaranayake served as the Director Sports at Directorate of Sports. He succeeds Major General Senaka Kasthurimudali who has now been appointed as the General Officer Commanding, 68 Infantry Division.
