Brigadier Palitha Hewawasam, Director Pay & Records assumed office as the 14th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) on Monday (2) at the SLAGSC Regimental Centre at Panagoda.
The new Colonel Commandant on arrival at the Regimental premises was greeted to a Guard Turnout at the entrance and welcomed by the Officers of the Regiment. Thereafter the Colonel Commandant placed a floral wreath at the fallen war heroes’ monument of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps.
Later on, he placed his signature in a formal document amidst religious observances to signify the acceptance of the new office.
Afterwards, Brigadier Palitha Hewawasam, new Colonel Commandant, SLAGSC added memories to assumption of his new office by planting a sapling in the premises.
The simple ceremony culminated sharing refreshments with Senior Officers, Regimental staff officers, Commanding officers and Regimental staff. The event adhered to health guidelines issued by the AHQ and health authorities.
