The newly-accredited Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) Mr Wu Jianghao on Thursday (19) morning paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya at Army Headquarters.
Mr Wu Jianghao during his cordial interaction with the Army Chief exchanged views on military matters of bilateral importance and ever-strengthening relations between both the armies, with special focus on award of training programmes to Sri Lankan military officers.
Mr Wu Jianghao recalled continuing historic relations between both military organizations for centuries and underlined the importance of sustenance of such understanding and cooperation.
Towards the end of the interaction, both Commander of the Army and the visiting diplomat symbolized the meeting by way of exchange of mementos. Before the ambassador’s exit, he left his signature in the VIP book at the Commander’s office as a formality.
