New Central Commander Familiarizes with His Division & Brigades

Major General Laksiri Waduge, the newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces - Central (SF-Cen) upon his assumption of office paid his inaugural visits to the Headquarters 12 Division and its under command formations on Wednesday (24).

On arrival at 12 Division Headquarters premises in Hambantota, the Commander, SF-Cen was received by Major General P.W.D.K Jayathilaka, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 12 Division before the visiting SF Commander was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the main entrance.

Afterwards, he was accorded a Guard of Honour by 12 Division troops in conformity with military traditions. As a symbol of memory, the Commander, SF-Cen was then invited to plant a sapling in front of the Division Headquarters office.

As the next leg of his programme, he visited the 122 Brigade Headquarters at Weerawila. As a symbol of memory, he planted a sapling in the 122 Brigade premises and added memories. Afterwards, he visited the 121 Brigade Headquarters and met a cross section of Officers and Other Ranks. He in both places left his signature in respective Visitors’ Books.
