Major General Pradeep de Silva, the new Commander, Army Training Command (ARTRAC) addressed all Commandants at Army Training Establishments on 22 August at Diyatalawa ARTRAC Headquarters during the Training Coordinating Conference.
All the Commandants and the representatives were warmly welcomed by the Staff of the ARTRAC and the conference was presided by the Commander ARTRAC. This was the first time that Major General Pradeep de Silva interacted with all training establishment heads after he assumed his duties as the Commander, ARTRAC.
The conference mainly focused on receipt of feedbacks from attending Commandants to reach common grounds to discuss ideas and general training matters in a conducive nature. Commencing the conference, Commander, ARTRAC highlighted the action plan, initiated by the ARTRAC to shape up the effectiveness of all training in Army Training Schools. Further, he highlighted the significance of the role of all the Commandants in the transformation of Sri Lanka Army into a professional organization.
During the conference, all the Commandants/CIs of all Army training establishments conducted briefings and forwarded their recommendations, concerning training to the Commander, ARTRAC. The Commander, ARTRAC also praised the Commandants for their commitment towards the success of the Sri Lanka Army Training and urged all the participants to constantly review and monitor training modules and the importance of liaison with the ARTRAC.
In addition, he disclosed the plan of the Sri Lanka Army on ‘Leadership Training’ designed for graduates, scheduled to be held from 02 September 2020 onwards under the directions of the Commander of the Army. Major General Pradeep de Silva also functions as the Director General General Staff at the Army HQ, in addition to the ARTRAC appointment.
