New AG Evaluates Hospital Construction Progress

The newly-appointed Adjutant General of the Army, Major General Deepal Pussella visited the Colombo Army Hospital on Friday (5) with a view to receiving an update on its operations and development work in progress.

During the visit, the Adjutant General reviewed the operational aspects of the hospital and discussed related matters with the Director General Army Health Services, Brigadier Crishantha Fernando and senior administrators.

Afterwards, he had a close look at the construction site of the 15 - storied new building and evaluated its progress. The new construction, initiated on a suggestion made by Commander of the Army would further ease the congestion and facilitate establishment of more medical wings once the construction is over and operational.

The Director General Army Health Service, Brigadier Crishantha Fernando, Director Engineer Services, Brigadier K.M.S Kumara, Colonel Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Brigadier S.A.N.J Ariyasena, Director of Army Medical Services, Brigadier Nishantha Pathirana, Director Management & Maintenance Brigadier A.A.J.S.A.S Perera, Director Colombo Army Hospital, Brigadier A.M.C Attanayake, Staff Officer I (A) at the Adjutant General Branch, Colonel U.V.W.S Amarasiri were associated with the discussions and the visit to the premises.

All participating in the arrangement strictly adhered to COVID-19 health guidelines.
