New 652 Brigade Commander Assumes Office

Brigadier Udaya Herath assumed duties as the 10th Commander of the 652 Brigade of the 65 Division of the Security Force HQ-Wanni, amid religious blessings at the Headquarters in Iruvil Junction, Naddankandal on Friday (4).

The newly-appointed Commander of the 652 Brigade of the 65 Division was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and honoured in a Guard Turnout, presented by 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops. Afterwards, Brigadier Udaya Herath placed his signature in an official document to mark his assumption of duties in the presence of a few Senior Officers.

Brigadier Udaya Herath, prior to this new appointment served as the 544 Brigade Commander.

An All Rank tea, planting of a sapling and the formal address to the Officers and Other Ranks culminated the day’s proceedings. Commanding Officers and Brigade staff were present at the occasion.
