Nepalese Delegation Calls at New Army Hospital


The Nepalese Army delegation, headed by Lieutenant General Pradeep Bikram Rana, Chief of Staff, Nepalese Army, currently in Sri Lanka with the objective of studying Sri Lankan Army’s welfare infrastructure, as part of their itinerary, called at the newly-built Army Hospital, Narehenpita on Wednesday (25).

The delegation was received by Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General, Directorate of Medical Services of the Army and conducted to the main auditorium.

Later on, Major General Munasinghe presented a comprehensive briefing on the medical services as well as other therapeutic facilities, provided to Army personnel during the meeting with the Nepalese delegation.     

Lieutenant General Pradeep Bikram Rana, Chief of Staff of the Nepalese Army, Major General Rajendra Bikram Sha, Adjutant General, Colonel Surendra Bahadur Sijapati of the Welfare Board, Colonel Hemanta Sharma of the Welfare Directorate of the Nepalese Army, together with the spouses, Mrs Ambu Rana, Mrs Aphalu Sijapati and Mrs Sofi Gautham, and senior officers at the Directorate of Medical Services were present during the visit.

The delegation afterwards visited several wards, clinical units and operation theatres at the Military Hospital.

Brigadier K.P Sumanapala, Director, Army Medical Services, Brigadier N.A.P.C Napagoda, Director, Directorate of Veterans Affairs and several senior officers were associated with the occasion.
