Needy Families Provided with Dry Ration Packs

Under the direction of the Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Major General Jayantha Gunaratne and the close supervision of the 65 Division and the Commanders of the 651, 652 and 653 Brigades, troops distributed 47 dry ration packs among worst-affected needy families in 65 Division area on Sunday (22).

The community project, initiated by the troops themselves was aimed at supporting the most under privileged sections who have been worst-affected due to prevailing curfew hours and their inability to go out of their homes.

Major General D.M.H.D Bandara, General Officer Commanding, 65 Division supervised the project, together with 651, 652 and 653 Brigade Commanders. 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 17 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 20 (Volunteer) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 7 Sri Lanka National Guard troops contributed to the distribution programme.
