NDU Delegates from Pakistan Call at Army HQ

A delegation of undergraduates studying at the Pakistan National Defence University (NDU) currently in Sri Lanka on a five-day long familiarization tour as part of their curriculum made a courtesy visit to the Army HQ on Tuesday (7).

The 17-member delegation, headed by Air Commodore Akhtar Imran Saddoza was warmly welcomed to the Army Headquarters by Colonel Udesha Rathnayake, Colonel Training Foreign in the Directorate of Training at the entrance to the main building before they were ushered to the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff.

On behalf of the Commander of the Army, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku, Deputy Chief of Staff received a representative group of delegates, headed Air Commodore Akhtar Imran Saddozai and ensued a cordial interaction with them. During exchange of views, Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku gratefully acknowledged the cooperation that prevails between both Sri Lankan and Pakistan Armed Forces for so many years and underlined the need to further foster bonds of working relations, understanding and exchange of training modules.

Major General Jagath Kodithuwakku towards the end of the friendly interactive meeting awarded a few mementos to the delegates wishing them a pleasant stay in Sri Lanka. The gesture was reciprocated.

Afterwards, Brigadier Kapila Dolage, Director, Directorate of Training at the Army Headquarters submitted a power point presentation on the wartime Humanitarian Operation, different security challenges and the Army role in nation-building projects and educated the visitors on the overall performance of organizational roles during a brief session, attended by Major General Nishantha Manage, Director General General Staff, Brigadier Shantha Ranaweeera, Director, Directorate of Operations and few senior officers.

Adding memories to their visit to the location, all of them with the Deputy Chief of Staff and Senior officers sat for a group photograph before their departure. A separate cultural entertainment follows on Wednesday (8) where the Commander of the Army are expected to grace the event.
